SUMMARY:Moving Donors From Supporting a Person to Supporting the Mission
DESCRIPTION:A presentation of the Marketing/Communications Track \nWhy You Should Attend\nYour missionary donors are some of the most loyal you have\, but most of them have never given to the organization. This session looks at why that gap matters and how you can start to close it. \n Who Should Attend\nCommunications\, development\, and donor relations staff at mission-sending organizations that want to grow giving to the organization itself\, not just to individual missionaries. \nHere is what we will cover:\n— What the benchmark found about how missionary donors and organization donors differ\, including retention and five-year value\n— How few donors ever cross over\, and what the timing data shows: no obvious moment\, just a steady rate across the first five years\n— Where storytelling\, email\, and updates can introduce the wider mission to donors who started with a person\n— A few things you can try right away \nPresenters\nScott Holthaus is the VP of Brand Marketing at Virtuous\, where he helps nonprofits grow giving and implement responsive fundraising. Before joining Virtuous\, Scott spent 15+ years working in nonprofits\, ministries\, and technology in a variety of roles\, including marketing\, branding\, and communications. Scott lives in the Chicago area with his wife and three kids. \n  \n  \nJaclyn Jones has spent two decades focused on direct response fundraising and driving client growth. Her career includes a successful track record of developing effective marketing and fundraising strategies and putting them into motion. Her job is to think through fundraising analysis\, planning\, and strategy and through it develop our clients’ growth models. By staying on top of KPIs\, analyzing results\, and offering recommendations on where to make improvements\, she helps our clients achieve their long-term goals. Jaclyn is originally from Portland\, OR and attended Seattle Pacific University with a degree in Philosophy. She has served a variety of clients including CARE\, Susan G Komen\, St. Jude\, RMHC\, Focus on the Family\, and various Food Banks and Animal Welfare groups. \n  \nMissio Nexus encourages interaction on diverse and difficult topics.
