SUMMARY:Recruitment or Mobilization? What's the Difference and Why it Matters
DESCRIPTION:Is there a difference between recruiting new missionaries and mobilizing them? Our thoughts about this topic directly impact the numbers of new missionaries we send. That’s why it’s important that we define these terms and determine our particular philosophy of recruitment and mobilization. \nYou’ll learn:\n– definitions for recruitment and mobilization\n– what determines mobilization success\n– how recruitment and mobilization work together\n– why focusing on the numbers could hinder sending new Gen Z missionaries\n– how prioritizing discipleship helps you send more\n– how Jesus mobilized his disciples \nPresenter: \nDave Jacob is a missions mobilization practitioner\, researcher\, trainer\, and consultant. He is the Founder and Chief Servant Officer of Gospel Mobilization\, a ministry dedicated to resourcing\, training\, and coaching missions mobilizers. He has served as a pastor and missionary\, and spent 7 years as the Chair of the Intercultural Studies department at Trinity Bible College and Graduate School in Ellendale\, ND. He also previously served as the Director of Mobilization at World Gospel Mission\, an inter-denominational missions sending agency. Dave is the author of It’s Your Call: To a Missional or Missionary Life\, and has a Master of Arts degree in Missional Leadership. He’s been married to Angie for 28 years. They have 5 children and two grandchildren. Dave enjoys gardening\, reading missions books\, and roasting his own coffee beans over an open fire. \n  \n  \nMissio Nexus encourages interaction on diverse and difficult topics. Be aware that the information shared in this event may not reflect the views of the Missio Nexus staff\, board\, or other community members. Virtual events are recorded and the recordings are available as a MEMBER ONLY resource in our Media Library.
