Job Description: Director of Development and Recruitment
 
Position Overview
This leadership role focuses on fundraising and the recruitment of missionaries.
 
Logistics & Alignment
1. Location: Remote (Requires 10-20% travel domestically and overseas) .
2. Theological Alignment: Must fully subscribe to First Love International’s mission, methods, values, and statement of faith.
3. General Responsibilities: Using a broad range of communications skills (speaking, writing, small group meetings, and one-to-one relationships) to present the ministry of First Love to churches, organizations, and individuals to raise up friendships which could lead to new partners for First Love’s work among unreached people in impoverished regions of the world.
4. Compensation: Dependent upon experience.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
First Love International Fundraising
1. Cultivate relationships with new potential donors and foundations.
2. Raise financial resources for the overall ministries of First Love International.
3. Write compelling fundraising appeals and proposals.

Missionary Recruitment
1. Identify and engage potential missionary candidates. Guide applicants through the vetting and onboarding process.
2. Represent First Love at conferences, conventions,  and churches.
3. Build strategic partnerships with colleges and ministry networks.

Missionary Support Raising Coach
1. Train new missionaries in biblical fundraising principles.
2. Help appointees develop personalized donor acquisition strategies.
3. Review missionary prayer letters, presentations, and newsletters.
4. Monitor individual funding progress to ensure timely deployment.

Executive Administration
1. Stand in for the President/CEO during absences or travel.
2. Assist the President/CEO with any other tasks which are needed.
 
Qualifications
1. A strong faith in God and a heart that listens and response to his Spirit.
2. A vibrant prayer life.
3. A passion to care for the impoverished (the least of these.)
4. A desire to work to create opportunities for First Love’s growth and development.
5. A proven track record of successfully raising funds for Christ honoring purposes.
 6. Bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, counseling, business, or related field.
 7. Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
